In 2008, I went with a friend to see The Aquabats, Suburban Legends and Yo Gabba Gabba at a St. George, Utah, venue, The Electric Theater. It was a long time ago now — 18 years — but I'd misplaced the photos somewhere. All I had were a couple black-and-white photos I'd posted on my Flickr, probably the day after taking them. I didn't think much of it — I didn't need the raw photos for any particular reason, and I'd exported much of what I'd taken. There were, of course, plenty of photos from around the time — photos I'd taken around my apartment of friends, mostly, as that was one of my major pastimes. I wanted the raw photos, but I wasn't too bothered that 2008 to 2010 were missing from my archives. (A little bothered, but not too bothered.)

What I didn't know was that 14-and-a-half years after this concert, I'd become a dad. I didn't really think about it at the time in any real capacity. I certainly didn't think that photos from this concert from 2008 would be one I'd be trying to track down some 18 years later. Today, my son loves Yo Gabba Gabba. I printed one of those black-and-white photos as an 8x10, and it's hanging on his wall. But those photos eluded me. I finally found them today.

It's a weird thing, time. Those 18 years are distant enough that it feels like a different person attended the concert, not me. It feels not just like a separate lifetime, but that a separate person attended that concert all those years ago.

Anyway, I'm glad I found these. Here are a few that were actually in focus.
